AIR FRYER POTATO CUBES
Gluten and Lactose-Free
Preheat the Air Fryer to 400F for 5 minutes
Serves: 2
Turning on the oven to make some fries or any small portion for two is just too wasteful. Also, it is makes the whole house hot and the kitchen just too uncomfortable for me. So, some time ago Peter got me an Air Fryer. I love it.
It is great for so many different applications. Frozen fries, fresh cut potatoes, chicken wings, burgers, chops and ribs, roasted vegetables are just a few things.
When I make potato cubes, I like to flavor them. You can use any sort of spices and or herbs to do this. This is a NO RECIPE thing. The first time I make chicken wings there was a ¼ c of rendered fat. I used 1 T of that fat to cook the fries.
The Recipe:
Russet Potato - 1 about 1 lb.
Oil - 1 T of your choice
Garlic granules - ½ t
Cayenne pepper - ¼ t
Kosher salt - 1 T
Dry herbs - 2 t (use any you feel like, crumbled to powder)
Let's get cooking:
Measure the ingredients used and set them aside.
Scrub or peel the potato. Cut into cubes a little larger than ½” cubes.
Dry them with a paper towel.
Mix everything together, other than the potato.
Toss the potato with the oil, spices and herbs.
Place the potatoes in your preheated Air Fryer, turn the heat to and cook for 10 minutes at 350F.
Shake the Air Fryer basket and leave the basket slightly open until you are ready to serve the potato. the heat in the air fryer will keep them cooking.
When you are ready for the potatoes, close the Air Fryer crank up the heat to 400F and cook for 1 to 2 minutes to heat and crisp the fries.
Serve these with anything you want, last time I cooked these, I served them with sliders and a salad.
Enjoy!
