NEW YORK TIMES "Mindful that the Cairo speech could cause a stir among American Jews, senior White House officials held a conference call from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with three to four dozen American Jewish leaders, to alert them to the president’s message and to try to win their support.
"But Mr. Obama will clearly have more soothing to do when he comes home. The Zionist Organization of America issued a statement on calling the Cairo speech “strongly biased” against Israel. A statement by the organization’s president, Morton A. Klein, said Mr. Obama’s remarks “may well signal the beginning of a renunciation of America’s strategic alliance with Israel.”
"Although Mr. Obama chose to bypass Israel on his trip, he announced that he was dispatching his Middle East envoy, George J. Mitchell, to the region next week for talks on Arab-Israeli peace, an indication that he intends to follow up the Cairo speech with quick action."
****the jewish leaders obama called were probably all jewish schmucks who voted for him. you can kiss israel goodbye if he has his way. he prefers saudi arabia that mis-treats women and wouldn't even allow his wife to visit with him in that country without covering herself in muslim garb. as for not stopping in israel, how come the new york times anti-semitics that they are, did not mention that if a traveler goes to israel he will not be permitted into most arab countries? by the way, the saudis were responsible for 911.
here is a prediction that you can take to the bank. if obama wins a second term, he will at that time convert to being a full time muslim.
