NEW YORK TIMES "One of New York State’s top economic development officials announced her resignation, after less than a year in office, in yet another setback for the troubled agency she had been appointed to lead.
"The official, Marisa Lago, president and chief executive of the Empire State Development Corporation, said she would step down at the end of the month, according to a press release from Gov. David A. Paterson’s office. Just last August, Mr. Paterson appointed Ms. Lago to run the agency, which had long been buffeted by turf wars, management problems and a lack of direction.
"Ms. Lago, a former Citibank executive who had worked for economic development agencies in New York City and Boston, provided little detail about why she was leaving, saying only that she had received other job offers and decided to take a position outside of state government."
****chances are marisa is telling a big fib. she probably got caught stealing stuff from the office refrigerator or maybe even worse. this agency has to be the most corrupt political agency in the nation. it gets millions of dollars each year and most of it ends up in the pockets of advertising agencies and media places for campaigns and promotions that are over priced and filled with graft.
in truth, the advertising campaigns for new york state should say, "this is a nice place to visit, but you sure would not want to live here." if you should happen to meet our governor ask him to tell you how many thousands of citizens are currently leaving new york state for other states that are more taxpayer friendly.
