NEW YORK SUN   "The record numbers of immigrants applying to become American citizens will now have a cushy place to check on the progress of the large citizenship backlog: the newly renovated New York offices of the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

"At the grand opening of the new customer service center in the Federal Building in Manhattan, immigration officials cut the ribbon in a sleek waiting room that now looks less like the Department of Motor Vehicles and more like an executive airport lounge.

"The renovation is part of a new push by the immigration agency to put on a friendlier face after it shed its immigration enforcement duties during the 2003 dissolution of its predecessor, the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

"The environment was hectic, noisy. Comfort was out of the question, and privacy was nonexistent," the USCIS New York City district director, Andrea Quarantillo, said of the old office, praising the new office for its "atmosphere that reduces anxiety."

****andrea quarantillo is a con artisit.  she doesn't do her job and her "agents" don't do their jobs.  illegal aliens are all over this city employed by evil bosses who pay them slave wages.  they don't get disability insurance, health insurance, workmen's compensation or anything else.  we hate to tell you what some of the ladies have to do to stay in this city.  as for her fancy new facilities it is just another example of how her department pisses away the taxpayers money.  the money for the fancy office could have been better spent training her office people to be polite with their legal immigrants.  maybe andrea should take some time to examine the landlords in this city who employ illegal aliens at poor wages and work in the most horrible situations.  probably not, she is too busy cutting the ribbon for new meaningless facilities.  by the way, has anyone examined her expense account lately?
